Key results from our
Community Survey 2025

  • 217 responses (up 25% on 2024)

  • ‘Prevention in action’ - 75% of respondents accessing The Peel are reporting high levels of life satisfaction and happiness, demonstrating a correlation between accessing the Peel and positive well-being

  • Despite high levels of happiness, worthwhileness and life satisfaction, anxiety levels are high (56%)

  • A Net Promoter Score of 64%
    Percentage of respondents who said they were likely or extremely likely to recommend The Peel.  A score over 50% is considered excellent or outstanding.

The challenge

The population of Clerkenwell is just under 12,000 (Islington:  223,000)

According to latest Indices of Deprivation statistics (2025):

  • 81% of people living in Clerkenwell live in the bottom 4 deprivation deciles

    • (vs. 70% Islington, 51% London)

  • 28% of the population of Clerkenwell are experiencing income deprivation

  • 56% of all children aged 0-15 are living in income deprived families in Clerkenwell.  Higher than both Islington and London

  • 44% of all people aged 60+ are income deprived in Clerkenwell

  • 81% are in the bottom four deciles for Health deprivation eg. impairment of quality of life through poor physical or mental health

  • Clerkenwell ranks in the bottom 10% nationally for Living Environment (quality of housing, air quality, road traffic accidents)

  • And in the bottom 1% on the ‘Outdoors sub-domain’ with 100% in the bottom 2 deciles (vs. 36% London).

How we measure our impact

Drawing on the NHS ‘Five Steps to Wellbeing’ we have identified six key outcomes areas, aligned to our purpose of enhancing wellbeing.

To assess personal wellbeing we use the ‘ONS4’ questions developed by the Office of National Statistics.
